Sunrise

So many years I failed to see
The peace a sunrise brings
I've grown to understand now
It's one of life's most important things

A quiet time to give some thanks
For the new day that has arrived
Just look at all the gifts sent forth
Of which none I am deprived

Even the songbirds know so well
That dawn means a brand new day
I pray that tomorrow will arrive
In much the very same way
