It's the fourth of July on Friday
Independence Day has arrived once more
Americans need to stop and reflect
For all those who have defended us in times of war
Many brave men and women
Have fought for our Old Glory, red, white and blue
Quite a few never made it back home
They gave their all for folks like me and you
Let's respect that American flag
Too many have died defending her colors so grand
From the American Revolution
World Wars One and Two, then there was Vietnam
We have our lady in New York Harbour
And the American Eagle is our bird
Our Liberty Bell in Philadelphia
That shows freedom is a powerful word
Alot of folks take peace and freedom for granted
They really don't seem to have a clue
Freedom just does not come free
Thank our troops for all that they do
This one great nation under God
We put all our trust in you
To wake up each morning in a free land
And to have the freedom to do what we want to do
