A Wish

A meek face, a loving heart
On loan for only a little while
Given the path to sacrifice life
Fighting illness with a smile

To dream a thousand dreams
Hope held firmly in the heart
To wish one final wish within
Before they must sadly depart

They have shared their gift of life
Trying to fend off darkened fear
Wondering silenly tomorrow's fate
The reasons are never quite clear

May that wish come quickly
Before the hourglass runs dry
Let's do our part in giving
And not let their courage die
